Alumni & Reunion Weekend 2011: What fun!

yo.....what a great weekend, not only the weather but being with many great friends from the time Ruth and I arrived at WPI back in the late 50s til this weekend....I hesitate to mention names for fear I leave some out, so I will only mention the several with whom we spent more than the"GREAT TO SEE YOU....YOU'RE LOOKING GREAT...HOW'S THE JOB...etc." greetings.....I am sure most reading this blog understand where I am coming from......coming in Friday evening after having a delicious meal with two '71s-- Ushers (driving up from GA) and Dicksons (driving from MI) ran across many who had had a clambake and were enjoying casino activities....by 11pm many of the younger alums (71's) were found at the "B" (Boynton)....

Saturday morning following President Berkey's talk was the annual parade....reunion luncheon.....(a few ventured back to the "B").....afternoon activities and the reunion dinners.....Ruth and I were guests of the '71 class banquet held in the Odeum.....our table mates were Ron and Linda Zarrella and the new Dean of the Arts and Sciences, Karen Oates.....it was a pleasure meeting her and I hope our paths cross in the coming days.....Linda and Ron have been friends since their early Tech days (Linda, in fact, had on occasion babysat our kids while Ruth and I attended fraternity functions)......there were several brief speakers with humorous comments.....after the dinner the Washusett Brewing Co. sponsored a WPI Social .....the three WPI alumni Wachusett founders had a prior commitment so could not be with us......a late evening at a local hotel ended my evening and a most enjoyable reunion.

What is Tuna's Corner anyway?

A lot of you may wonder why you should follow a blog by me--Tuna, Deano, Dean Trask or just plain Bill Trask. WPI alumni are real movers and shakers, with news to share all the time. In talking with WPI's Office of Development & Alumni Relations, we thought a blog would be a fast and easy way to share your latest news, and Tuna's Corner was born! I am fortunate to know many of you personally, and I look forward to getting to know even more of you through this blog. We share great pride in WPI, and together we can build up that pride to new heights. Send me your latest news--job changes, marriages, births, WPI reunions, etc.--at tuna777@wpi.edu and I'll post it to this blog. Your news will also be published in Transformations, WPI's alumni magazine. Here's hoping you will take advantage of making your news current and finding yourself in Tuna's Corner.

Cheers!
Bill "Tuna" Trask
